Pustynia Bledowska popularly called "Polish Sahara", is the biggest area of quicksands in Poland and equally the largest area of inland sands' occurrence in Europe. Also considered as the "only natural desert in Europe". The refuge encompasses area of about 32 square kilometers situated on the border of Slaska and Olkuska Upland. It borders directly with Gornoslaski Industrial Centre. It extends from district of Dabrowa Gornicza - Bledowa on the west to Klucze commune on the east. North border of Pustynia Bledowska is Chechlo village, and on the south - big wood area. Biala Przemsza river flows across the area. more »
