Michalowiec refuge was founded precious for saving European biodiversity. It is the valuable nature area because of vegetation habitats occuring here: Luzulo-Fagetum beech forests and stands of rare plant, lady's slipper orchid. Besides you can meet here a rare species of mosses - slender green feather-moss (Drepanocladus vernicosus). You can easily get to the refuge by car, because Michalowiec is located by county road no. 793 Olkusz-Wolbrom, 10 km to the northern west from Olkusz city. more »
