Sterczow-Scianka is a valuable Natura 2000 site protecting rare habitats and large population of Lady's Slipper orchid (Cypripedium calceolus), which is endangered by extinction and lited in Polish Red Data Book of Plants. The site is located near Miechow, and covers the area of 6,3 ha. Almost the entire area of the site is covered by forests. Fragments of forests, mostly deciduous ones, are well preserved. more »

Swietokrzyski National Park was established in 1950 over the area of 6,054 ha. Currently its area amounts to 7,626 ha, out of which 7,212 ha are covered by forests. There are 5 strict nature reserves in the Park.
