The region near the city of Kielce is considered as territory with the greatest number of protected areas. There is one National Park, 9 landscape parks, 65 nature reserves and 355 nature monuments located in this region.  

990 species of plants have been found in Swietokrzyski National Park. From among them 670 species of vascular plants, 129 of lichen and 190 of moss.  more »

A parasite mushroom - Filamentous Fungi (Laricifomes officinalis) – can be found in the nature reserve „Swinia Gora” and on the protected area “Chelmowa gora” in Swietokrzyski National Park. Its healing properties are known since the I st century A.D.  more »
