Did you know that...

A very rare plant called Burning Bush (Dictamus albus) can be found on the calcareous and plaster soil in the valley of the Nida river.

It is a representative of a uncommon in Poland Rue family (Rutaceae). This species is under strict protection. It grows on xerothermic meadow assemblies, and reaches the height of 1,2 m. Its characteristic feature is a strong cinnamon – lemon - like smell.

Swietokrzyski National Park

Swietokrzyski National Park was established in 1950 over the area of 6,054 ha. Currently its area amounts to 7,626 ha, out of which 7,212 ha are covered by forests. There are 5 strict nature reserves in the Park.

Lysica is the highest peak of Swietokrzyskie mountains and is rated among Polish Mountain Crowns. It is a list of 28 highest peaks in Poland, one from each mountain range.
