Did you know that...
You can find Poland’s most famous nature monument – Bartek oak on the area of Wyzyna Malopolska (Malopolska upland) near Samsonowo.
The oak is around 700 years old and as the legend says the king Jan III Sobieski rested underneath on his way back from the victorious battle near Vienna. In the vicinity of the oak runs an alley planted with 48 over 100 years old trees. Among them: maples, lime-trees, ashes and 2 Polish larches.

Swietokrzyski National Park was established in 1950 over the area of 6,054 ha. Currently its area amounts to 7,626 ha, out of which 7,212 ha are covered by forests. There are 5 strict nature reserves in the Park.
A very rare plant called Burning Bush (Dictamus albus) can be found on the calcareous and plaster soil in the valley of the Nida river.
