Cranes over Lutownia river

A small river Lutownia flows across Bialowieza Primeval Forest. Hundreds of years ago a mansion for king Zygmunt August was built on the bank of the river. Today visitors to this spot can often hear the calling of cranes.

Bialowieza National Park

Bialowieza National Park is located in the eastern part of Poland at the border with Belorussia. The Park lies in the central part of Bialowieza Primeval Forest, which is the most natural forest complex in the lowland part of Europe.

In the valley of river Narew there are 145 species of birds nesting. Among them 110 species of waders.
