The valley of river Narew is called "Polish Amazon". This area is characterised by many divided and irregulary shaped riverbeds, which are much like those of Amazon.

This type of a riverbed is unique in Europe. The river Narew in this region has a flat bottom and steep, underwater shores. There are also many islands situated between numerous riverbeds.

Biebrza National Park

The Biebrza National Park was established in 1993. Total area of 59 233 ha makes it the largest of Polish national parks. The famous Biebrza marshes are the most valuable habitats of the park.

The climate of the Podlasia and Belarus Plateaux is characterized by long winters and high temperatures during summer. This are the features of the continental climate.
