The Rudawy Janowickie is a mountain range in Western Sudetes in Poland. This range lies next to the much higher Karkonosze mountains. It is quite small covering the area of 90 km2, yet it is very interesting in terms of landscape and geological formations. One of the scenic places in Rudawy Janowckie are so called coloured lakes - Purple, Blue and Emerald created in headings of closed mines.
Coloured lakes (Purple, Blue and Emerald) created in headings of closed mine are one of the main attractions of Rudawski Landscape Park. The Park was established in 1989 and covers 8,8 thousand ha on the Rudawy Janowickie area. Unique forest complexes, meadows, numerous groups of rock are protected within the Park.
