Bats in Zloty Stok

The town of Zloty Stok was once famous for its goldmines. Now the abandoned pits and grooves are a mainstay of many bat species.

Nine species of bats have been noted to live here.

Karkonosze National Park

The Karkonosze National Park was established in 1959 to include an area of 5,510 ha. Since 1992 the Karkonosze National Park has been included into the Bilateral Biosphere Reserve Karkonosze/Krkonoše (MaB) which covers over 60,000 ha.

Karkonosze are the highest ridge in Sudety Mountains. The highest peak being Sniezka (1602m asl).
