The site includes the eastern part of a vast wetland complex, named Krowie Bagno. There are remains of a fen complex, which was once one of the largest areas of this type in the Polish part of Polesie. The site comprises 4 disappearing eutrophic lakes: Laskie, Lubowierz, Lubowierzek and Hanskie. Krowie Bagno are home to numerous valuable plnat and animal species. Polesie National Park lies in central Poland near its eastern border. It was established in 1990 on the basis of the existing peatbogs nature reserves: Durne Bagno, Jezioro Moszne, Jezioro Dlugie, Torfowisko Orlowskie.
