The biggest value of Ostoja Suwalska is a unique postglacial landscape, rich in diverse forms: moraine hills, deep river valleys, hanging valleys and erratic boulder. There are many lakes, and the deepest in Poland Hancza lake (108.5 m) among them. It is the Site of Community Importance within European Natura 2000 Network. Ostoja Suwalska is located on Suwalskie Lakeland, about 15 km to the north from Suwalki city. It encompasses Szeszupa hollow and vicinity of Hancza lake.
