Very important object of protection in Ujscie Warty are remains of alluvial forests, which have been almost completely cleared in the whole Western and Central Europe over the last two thousand years. Nowadays they are also a rare element of Polish landscape. Open wetlands and floodplains, dominating in terms of occupied space are the second element of landscape. Ujscie Warty is a bird refuge of European importance thanks to hatches of: spotted crake, common tern and aquatic warbler, presence of migratory geese, ducks, whooper swans and cranes. The best is to reached the refuge by car, by principal roads no. 31 and 23 to Kostrzyn spot over the Odra river. Road no. 22 running along the Warta estuary also leads to the town. There is a growing number of camp sites. more »

Bory Tucholskie National Park was established in 1996, on the area of 4,789 ha. The Park is located in the central-north part of Poland within the Polish largest forest complex - Bory Tucholskie.
