Jezioro Wielki Bytyn is the Site of Community Importance. It is the big lake located in the deep trough with irregular shoreline, many ravines and gorges, overgrown with forests of big participation of old beeches. The richness of habitats occurring here and the number of rare birds‘ species nesting in the vicinity of the lake makes the refuge area of great value. The lake has high slopes on the long part of the shoreline. This makes the mixed forest overgrowing that site inaccessible. The landscape is diverse by marshes and peatbogs. more »

Bory Tucholskie National Park was established in 1996, on the area of 4,789 ha. The Park is located in the central-north part of Poland within the Polish largest forest complex - Bory Tucholskie.
