The lobelia lakes lie in varied moraine landscape. It is a complex of 12 little lakes with clear oligotrophic waters. They are overgrown with a rare water plant - Dortmann's cardinalflower, often accompanied by different water plants, such as lake quillwort or floating water-plantain.
