Lipowka refuge encompasses a part of original deciduous wood with a participation of Galio-Carpinetum oak-hornbeam forests (with oak, hornbeam and lime domination), being the remnants of original forest in Vistula and Raba river valleys. The refuge is the Site of Community Importance within Natura 2000 network. The refuge of the area 25.7 ha is located in the eastern part of malopolskie voivodeship in wielicki county, in Niepolomnice commune near Wola Zabierzowska spot.
