Fish ponds and other water reservoirs are important breeding places of European importance for rare species of water-swamp birds on the area of the refuge. These are also significant areas for migrating birds, as a resting place during autumn and spring migrations. Birds are drawn by richness of food and places for nesting offered by breeding ponds and arable lands neighbouring with them. Among many species of birds nesting here night heron is a special attraction. This is its most important breeding place in Poland. more »
