In Lasy Janowskie (Janowskie Forests) one can find fragments of natural bog, where the following stages of overgrowing of a water reservoir can be observed.

In order to protect this area a nature reserve Imielty Lug was established (738 ha). Among other valuable plants growing here are Sundew and Marsh Clubmoss.

Wieliczka Salt Mine

The Salt Mine Wieliczka is the oldest salt enterprise on Polish land dating back to the Middle Ages. For centuries it was the source of the country’s wealth. Today it is the most popular Polish tourist attraction.

The last Tarpan Bilgoraj Forest Horses live in the vicinity of Janow Lubelski. These animals are hybrids of tarpan horse and domestic horse. It grows up to 130 cm in withers, and it is grey-haired with dark stripe across its back.
