Some advice
How to get to Wzgorza Bukowe refuge?
The refuge lies within the area of Szczecinski Park Krajobrazowy which is located along south-eastern districts of Szczecin. There are many tourist walking paths and biking routes traced through Wzgorza Bukowe, as well as a golf course in Binow. It is a popular resting place of people from Szczecin, offering excellent view on the city.

Because the area is partly situated within administrative borders of Szczecin, it can be easily reached by car.

By car
From the south take road no. 3 towards Szczecin. From Gdansk take road no. 6 through Slupsk and Koszalin. From the west Szczecin can be reached through Torun and Bydgoszcz.

By train
There are very good train connection with Szczecin from virtually every Polish city.

The most attractive route leading through Szczecinski Park Krajobrazowy - Wzgorza Bukowe, nature reserves, stream valleys, passing erratic boulders, starts by Szczecin-Zdunowo train station, then goes along southern edge of Puszcza Goleniowska, down the Plonia valley through  Knieja Bukowa, area of Jeziora Binowskie and forest villages with interesting architecture, and finally ends at Szczecin Zdroje train station.

2 km before the end of the trail it is worth to turn left following green signs which leads us to Jezioro Szmaragdowe (the Szmaragdowe Lake). It is a 4.5 ha vast and 18 m deep reservoir, developed in an excavation of an old chalk mine.
