River estuaries are always sites valuable for nature. The same can be said about the Odra estuary. The area is characterized by the rich lay of the land formed by withdrawing continental glacier. It has high natural value and is in great part protected as the Wolinski National Park. This is a habitat of many species of fauna and protected plants with many objects of inanimate nature. Wolin and Uznam islands are considered valuable site of community importance within the European Natura 2000 Network.
