Wolin island is located in the Baltic Sea just off the Polish coast. It is separated from the island of Uznam by the Swina strait, and from mainland Pomerania by the Dziwna strait. Most of the island consists of forests and postglacial hills, and is protected within the borders of the Wolin National Park.

Wolin National Park is located at the mouth of Oder River, in the North-Western Poland (voivodship of Western Pomerania). It protects the unique ecosystem of north-western part of the Wolin Island.
