By car
By car or other mean of road transport you can get there by road E-65 (Szczecin - Swinoujscie) and road no. 102 (Trzebiatow - Swinoujscie).

By train
Trains from the south stop in Miedzyzdroje on the island of Wolin. From there you can get to interesting places either on foot or by bus.

By sea
Two river routes lead to Wolin island: from the south, from ports in the Szczecinski Lagoon, including Miedzyzdroje, and from ports on German side of the lagoon, from the north - from ports on Kamien Pomorski and Dziwnow.

When going to Wolin and Uznam islands one should remember that the majority of interesting sites on the islands is under strict protection. Therefore you have to stick to marked paths and obey all other rules of national parks.

When to visit?
Good time to explore the islands is spring, summer and beginning of autumn. Clothes should be appropriate for the season, and remember that shoes should be solid and comfortable - contrary to what you could expect there is not only sand. One can come across high grass, steep climbs and boggy places along the paths.

On top of a cliff you can expect strong winds and in forests you can be attacked by swarms of mosquitoes. Distances between villages and towns are not big so you do not have to take on a trip sandwiches and a thermos flask - although it may be recommended in autumn. Wolin does not cause much problems to tourists but it is not a promenade. A camera is worth taking - beautiful landscapes, monumental oaks and beeches, great variety of beautiful plants - for example nine species of orchids. A tourist needs willingness, common sense and good weather and he will not get bored.
