Mouth of Vistula River

The mouth of Vistula river developed in stages. In the first half of the XIX century the river branched into Nogat and Leniwka between Torun and Gdansk. When Leniwka got silted, Szkarpawa branched flowing towards the east. In 1840 Wisla Smiala developed, and in 1895 the new mouth of Vistula river was dug up. more »

University of Gdansk Marine Station in Hel

Hel Marine Station was established in 1992. Its biggest attraction is the aquarium for seals, where gray seals, the biggest seals living in the Baltic Sea, may be seen all year round.

Dunes in Leba and in Slowinski National Park constantly move and change their shapes, this is wy they are called "migrating dunes".
