This is the only stand of dome-shaped peat preserve in Pomerania. Vast part of the area is overgrown by mixed forests, and near the peatbog there are deciduous mainly beech and beech-oak forests. Slowinskie Blota are the habitat of many protected vegetables like:

• Common sundew,
• Hartman tufted bulrush,
• Cloudberry,
• Bog-rosemary,
• Wild rosemary,
• Stiff clubmoss.

Habitats from Appendix I Habitats Directive:

• Bog woodland,
• Depressions on peat substrates of the Rhynchosporion,
• Active raised bogs with bog-productive vegetables,
• Degraded raised bogs still capable of natural and stimulated regeneration.

There is Markowe Blota Nature Reserve on the area of the refuge.
