The site includes the active raised bog of the Baltic type, which reaches the southern border of its range in Europe here. Moreover, the bog is a local watershed in the contact zone of ground moraine and sandr. Peat deposits occur within the bog dome of varied geology. It has been preserved almost as a whole, cut by a drainage canal and surrounded by layers of fen peat. Fragments of open bog in the stopped growth stage can be found on the dome plateau. Its slopes are overgrown by the diverse types of coniferous mire wood and Sphagnum birch wood, with artificially drained belt of the woodland edge fringes. Slopes and partly the bottom of the Reknica and Grabowa Rivers valleys are covered by forests.
