There are well-preserved Galio-Carpinetum oak-hornbeam forests and Riparian mixed forest of Quercus robur, Ulmus laevis and Ulmus minor, Fraxinus excelsior or Fraxinus angustifolia along the great rivers (Ulmenion minoris) on the area of the refuge and also monumental trees appear here. These oak-hornbeam forests - habitats from Appendix I of Habitat Directive - were dominating wood gatherings in the European lowlands in historical times, before the agriculture was initiated by human.
