Forty Nyskie is a Site of Community Importance with the area of 49.7 ha, located in opolskie voivodeship. The refuge is situated on the area of town park in Nysa city and it encompasses a part of 19th-century fortification. The refuge was set up to protect one of the most important places of bats hibernation in Silesia.
There are 5 species of bats on the area of Forty Nyskie valuable in the Eropean scale:
- Barbastrelle,
- Bechstein's bat,
- Greater mouse-eared bat,
- Geoffroy's bat,
- Lesser horseshoe bat.
Galio-Carpinetum oak-hornbeam forests from Appendix I of Habitat Directive appear on the area of the refuge. There also three species of woodpeckers has been stated: middle spotted, black and grey-headed.
