There is Ostroleka city on the eastern end of the refuge. The national road no. 53 leads there and it is also cut by road no. 61. The city is well prepared for tourists. There are hotels, bars and restaurants. The refuge borders with Chorzele city from its western side. Chorzele is cut by national road no. 57. There is also the railway track along the area.
Omulwia Valley is known for its canoe track. Although it is bad settled in, it lets you be closer to the wild nature. Taking part in canoeing trip on Omulwia (the upper part also) you may get knowing the major part of Kurpie. There is the historic church in Baranow. You can find the debrises of wild beehives in the nearest woods. Other tourists' attraction the highest pick of the Mazowsze located nearby Stara Wies (236m o.s.l), from which you may see the beautiful view of the refuge. The best season to visit the place is spring and summer, especially in May where most of birds are singing. And in migration period (March-May and August-October) you can find many birds, mainly communities of cranes, on wet river meadows. They must be observed from a far by binoculars or telescope, to not scare them away and let them feed in quiet before the next journey.
