The area of the county is divided into nine administrative units - three towns: Chocianów, Polkowice and Przemków and six communities:  Chocianów, Gaworzyce, Grębocice, Polkowice, Przemków and Radwanice. There are 103 villages in the rural areas.

It is quite hard to characterize comprehensively the world of nature of the Polkowice county. Unquestionably, one must come here to be able to appreciate all that the region has to offer for those who want to sightsee and rest here.

The vicinity of Przemkow is characterized by immaculate nature, saved from destructive

influence of copper industry (40% of the area is occupied by forest and water). In 1984 in the northern  part of community, among peat bogs, forests, meadows and fishponds (over 100 ha), a bird sanctuary called " Stawy Przemkowskie" (Przemkow Ponds) was formed. Two hundred and twenty species of birds live there., 150 of which have there breeding stations.
