County of Polkowice
The county of Polkowice is situated in the north-western part of Lower Silesia province. The county numbers nearly 63,000 inhabitants.

The area of the county is divided into nine administrative units - three towns: Chocianów, Polkowice and Przemków and six communities:  Chocianów, Gaworzyce, Grębocice, Polkowice, Przemków and Radwanice. There are 103 villages in the rural areas.

It is quite hard to characterize comprehensively the world of nature of the Polkowice county. Unquestionably, one must come here to be able to appreciate all that the region has to offer for those who want to sightsee and rest here.

In 1984 in the northern  part of community, among peat bogs, forests, meadows and fishponds (over 100 ha), a bird sanctuary called " Stawy Przemkowskie" (Przemkow Ponds) was formed.
