Some advice
How to get to Madohora refuge?
The site is located in the highest part of Beskid Maly and it can be reached only on foot or by bike. There are numerous hiking trails leading to the reserve. The shortest one is a blue trail from Kocon - small village located on road no 946 (Sucha Beskidzka to Zywiec). To Kocon you may get by PKS bus, or by your own mean of transport.

One may also choose traveling by train, however the train goes to Hucisko, which is located further from the Madohora reserve. Here the blue trail starts, but it takes 6 km to walk to Kocon.

Other trails going to Madohora include: green trail from Krzeszowo Dolne, and red trail from Leskowiec.

Tourist attractions in the area:

  • Nature reserves "Szeroka" and "Buczyna" na "Zasolnicy";
  • Wadowice: home town of pope John Paul II,
  • Zywiec: Gothic church from the first half of 15th century, Palace of the Habsburgs, the castle form the 14th century;
  • Sucha Beskidzka: Renaisance castle, neo-gothic chuch from 16th century;
  • Lachowice: wooden church of St Paul and Peter.
