Turbacz is the highest peak in the Gorce range, it reaches 1310m above the sea level. It used to be called Niedzwiedz and Kluczki.  

Gorczanski National Park occupies the area of 7030 ha, including 6591 ha of forests. The area of 16 647 ha is the park's protection zone. Over 3 611 ha of the Gorczanski National Park are under strict protection. The park was established in 1981.
