How to get to Orawa-Nowy Targ Peatbogs?

Going for a trip to Orawa-Nowy Targ Peatbogs you should pick Nowy Targ as our staging point. Nowy Targ can be reached by train or by PKS coach from Krakow.

Motorized tourists have much more options. You can stop in one of villages along the road to Chyzne. You can also get to Czarny Dunajec, Jablonka or Lipnica Mala.

Visiting the peatbogs you should watch for a common viper - it is not only venomous but also strictly protected.

One of the biggest attractions of the area is village Chocholow with original wooden buildings from the turn of the 19th century. It may also be a good idea to visit Zakopane and go for a trip through Tatra National Park.

Around Nowy Targ there are many marked walking paths and biking routes.

Pieniny National Park

Pieniny National Park is one of most picturesque national parks in Poland. The Park's area is 2,346 ha. Forests cover 1,665 ha - 750 ha are placed under a strict protection.

Tatra National Park contains about 650 caves. Wielka Sniezna - Wielka Litworowa cave is the longest, with 18,000 m of tunnels and the deepest (814 m in depth). Only 6 caves are accessible for visitors.
