Some advice
How to get to Czarna Orawa?
The biggest villages in the area are Podwilk, Jablonka and Chyzne.

By car
Having your own mean of transport is very convenient since there is a principal road E77 leading to a border crossing in Chyzne. You can also drive to Czarna Orawa from Makow Podhalanski, taking a picturesque road through the Babia Gora National Park. From Zakopane we drive through Chocholow and Czarny Dunajec.

By bus
A bus route leads from Zakopane through Chocholow to Podwilk or Jablonki.

By train
The nearest train station, in Rabka Wyzna, several kilometers from the refuge's border.

If you travel by our own mean of transport it is recommended to take a road through Slovakia and see Jezioro Orawskie (in Trzciana you should turn towards Oravska Priehrade).

Local tourist attractions include:

  • church from the 18th century in Podwilk,
  • wooden church in Orawka - an object from the list of the most precious monuments of wooden architecture in Poland.
