Some advice
How to get to Bieszczady Mountains?
Polish part of Bieszczady in the west reaches Przelecz Lupkowska (Lupkowska Pass) and the Oslawica and the Oslawa valleys, behind which Beskid Niski (the Lower Beskid) begins. In the north it borders on a road and Sanok-Ustrzyki Dolne railway. In the east it reaches Polish-Ukraine border, which runs south from Lutowiska to Przelecz Uzocka (Uzocka Pass) along upper course of the San. In the south it is limited by Polish-Slovakian border, which runs along main Carpathian watershed, separating here the Vistula river basin from the Danube river basin. Altogether it forms an area in a shape of irregular wedge directed to south-east, about 60 km parallel stretch and about 50 km meridional stretch.

Traveling by car
In order to reach Bieszczady by car one should get to Sanok. If you want to visit western part of Bieszczady (towards Komancza) turn in Zagorze. You can also keep going to Lesko and there turn towards Wetlina or Ustrzyki Dolne.

Traveling by train
A local railway junction is Zagorz, 6 km off the center of Sanok. There are fast trains to Zagorz through Sanok from Warsaw, Cracow, Lodz Kaliska and Gliwice.

Traveling by bus
You should look for coach connections with Sanok - a main communication junction of the region. Sanok has far-distance coach connections with most of towns of central and east Poland. From Sanok coach station depart buses to almost all Bieszczady villages, however to some of them there are very few connections.

There are more and more tourist walking routes, educational and natural paths being marked out in Bieszczady Mountains. Biking and skiing are also popular in the region.

A real mountaineer will find Bieszczady the least populated and economically exploited Polish mountains. Large distances between mountain refuges or other accommodation and catering places, as well as undeveloped communication network make day walking distances quite long, so good condition is required, but in return we can expect satisfaction with our physical effort and independence.

Those who prefer less active recreation can choose one of many holiday resorts at the banks of Solinskie and the Myczkowskie lakes. Both kind of tourists can find the region very attractive - it is full of historical monuments and places worth visiting.
