Poland is the European mainstay of White Stork. Every year about 41 thousand couples, out of 160 thousand living all over the world, come to Poland.
The majority of Polish white stork population lives in Varmia, Masuria and Podlassia.
A nature reserve „Studnica” is located in the western part of Wieruszowska plateau. It is a ravine covered by the pine-oak-spruce mixed primeval forest. Many of the trees growing there are over 150 years old and reach the height of 40 meters.
