The cave „Raj” (Paradise cave) is one of the most beautiful dripstone caves in Poland. It is located in the vicinity of Kielce and is one of the highlights of ¦wiêtokrzyskie Mountains.
It has been discovered in 1964. Traces of Homo (sapiens) neandertalens as well as the remains of a mammoth, a cave bear and of a wooly rhino have been found in this cave. The roof of this cave is covered with numerous stalactites. It stretches on 240 meters but only 180 meters of its length are available for tourists. The area of the cave is under protection as a nature reserve.
