Did you know, that...
A parasite mushroom - Filamentous Fungi (Laricifomes officinalis) – can be found in the nature reserve „Swinia Gora” and on the protected area “Chelmowa gora” in Swietokrzyski National Park. Its healing properties are known since the I st century A.D.
This fungi is a parasite that grows on old larches. It is listed in the Red Book of endangered species. The fructification of the mushroom contains agaricin, a substance with healing properties. The potion made from the fungi was considered as a universal remedy for all diseases. It has been also used as a substitute of quinine.
