Did you know, that...
177 bird species have been observed in vicinity of the Nida river. 143 from among them are hatching there (which is a 1/3 of all Polish bird species). 20 of those species are listed in the “Polish Red Book of Animals”.
This richness of avifauna is assured by the highly diversified environment of the Nida valley. This area is also very important as a resting and feeding place for the birds migrating southwards. Among the species living there you can find: black stork, lesser spotted eagle, Montagu’s harrier, spotted crake, little crake and many others.
